Most Tatuatgen that enter service in the Space Corps end up as marines. They have an extensive military tradition, but their history is not littered with as much conflict as many other species. Biologically, they are similar to humans, but their eyes lack a distinct iris, and their pupils are speckled, made up of a number of small parts. They also have blue to purple coloured spots that run down from the temple to the ankles.
